Technical details

KIB is a holistic, user oriented software for image management which, with its intuitive user interface, makes learning how to use the software really easy. KIB is based on a modular structure and consists of the modules »Control«, » Metreo« and »Noah«, wherein the »Control« module constitutes the interface to the other two modules. It provides basic functionalities such as image processing, image superimposition, making videos (AVI) out of still images and a comprehensive reporting system. In addition to common file formats like *.bmp, *.tif, *.jpg, Kappa ImageBase offers a special file format (*.kib) for the combined storage of image information and camera parameters. This way the user can reproduce the conditions of the image acquisition.

The module »Noah« manages and archives images and data. The user can freely configure the image database to contain images, camera parameters, measuring results, overlays, and comments in a large variety of fields.

The module »Metreo« provides measuring, annotation and marking functions. With its multitude of different measuring modes the software is highly flexible. »Metreo« shows the measuring results clearly in form of a table and the data can be directly transferred to Microsoft Excelâ.
