Kappa X-ray cameras are of interest for machinery and equipment manufacturers who integrate our OEM modules into NDT and X-ray inspection systems. They make the most of Kappa’s flexible OEM product concept with a selection of interfaces and sensors GigE Vision offers a favorable periphery with up to 100 meter-long Cat5e cables.
• Destruction-free materials testing/NDT system
• Quality control from tires to weld seam inspection
• X-ray inspection systems for food industries such as infant nutrition, ready-to-eat meals, beverages
• X-ray detectors for luggage inspection systems
• High-quality images with excellent grayscale resolution
• At 30 fps, also well suited for digital real-time radiology
• Sensor adjustment down to the pixel along all three axes
• Identical camera pairs, precisely characterized across the entire control behavior for 3D X-ray systems
• X-ray-specific real-time signal processing
• Control software for evaluation conventiently on a PC.
High sensitivity, low noise and very high signal quality in 14-bit digitization depth with excellent grayscale resolution ensure brilliant visualization of details with weak contrast. This integrative product concept with a flat mechanical construction in single board conductor plate layout offers a great deal of flexibility in choice of sensors, interfaces and breadth of function, thanks to its variable electronic design. The modules offer control of the motorized aperture and an ND filter.

The high-output GigE Vision interface offers several advantages: high data transfer rates (1 Gbit/sec), advantageous interface for the PC side, advantageous cabling with thin CAT5e cables up to 100m in length (328 ft.), and a standardized, user-friendly communication protocol.
Also in the program: x-ray camera modules with CameraLink interface and control via RS 422/RS644. These modules offer 12-bit digitization. The user has numerous signal processing functions available for image optimization.
For clients who want to shift a part of image processing into the camera we offer we offer comprehensive adjustable functions so that you can derive every last bit of information from your x-ray images as needed without taxing the PC.
Pulling out the last details from x-ray images with low contrast: for active optimization of x-ray images, numerous adjustable real-time signal processing functions are at your disposal, such as histogram balance, shading correction, gamma correction, negative image, edge enhancement, background image subtraction, and recursive filter with auto motion control.
Further functions such as circular blanking, frame on demand and bad pixel correction are specially adjusted for x-ray applications.
Of course, our clients connect Kappa x-ray cameras to their systems via SDK. However, due to popular demand, we also offer a tool for evaluation and initial commissioning of the x-ray camera using just a PC. The detailed system integration can then be done separately.
