„That’s our way“: The new Kappa handbook shows you our way of working. We combine our competency in industrial production with the ability to understand specific application contexts, allowing us to work together with the client to develop a camera solution, and to produce it reliably, efficiently, and with quality assured – be it for 20 or 2000 at a time.

That’s our way.

Camera-Internal Electronic Signature

Electronic data processing today is standard in the most different processes and thus the importance of an electronic signature increases to guarantee the authenticity of data for all kinds of digital documentation. For the first time, Kappa signature cameras provide the ability to sign digital images together with additional data (measuring data, QA data, batch number, etc.) directly with a camera-internal signature. This signature assures authenticity and integrity of the data and provides evidence that is admissible in a court of law. Any manipulation of the image data is evident and can be proven. The digital signature generation is based on the RSA 1024-bit signature and the SHA 512-bit hash function. The generated signature, which is attached to the document, is encrypted by a private key. The actual data are not encrypted, so that the document remains readable in plain text after the signature operation. The public key is used to verify signature accuracy. The decisive advantage of signing image data directly in the camera is the probative force. Contrary to subsequent encryption procedures, for example at a PC, image data and additional data cannot be manipulated before signing them. The user obtains the safety of reliable and manipulation-proof data, for example, for quality control or process control:

In the context of product liability, you can prove the authenticity of production data, serial number, and reference images.

You can prove forgeries by checking the signature.

Surgical images and patient data can be signed together as one document.

Image acquisition of traffic offenses

The integrity and authenticity of image data is proven for a multitude of applications: forensic applications, criminal prosecution, industrial QA laboratories, liability cases, etc.
