The Catalog - Kappa Handbook 2009:
The Kappa Handbook presents our corporate portfolio, from mega pixel resolution to requirements management, from standard products to customer series. We give you an overview of our CCD and CMOS cameras as well as over the Kappa PC and camera software.
The cooperation with the satellite research group at the TU University of Berlin (TUBSAT) was launched in 1999. Kappa was the perfect partner for the project due to the know-how in the development and manufacturing of extremely rugged cameras with above-average signal quality and long product life cycles. Kappa cameras were launched in space in 1999 on board of the satellite DLR TUBSAT and in 2006 on board of the LAPAN TUBSAT. Since then Kappa cameras provide reliable image information from 600 km orbit height, as star sensor for direct position control and as optical payload equipment.
1999 the satellite project relied on video technology. Today Kappa goes for the first HDTV camera in space and provides the market leaders in the area of civil and military aviation with the latest digital technology and HDTV 3D cameras.
